You two are totally awesome. Thanks to this thread and your knowledge, I was able to buy the right pressure sensor on EBay for $27 and my future son-in-law installed it on my daughter's Yaris and fixed the air (necessary for this summer's heat in the west where they live). Dealer wanted $1000 to fix the AC.

Maybe the lost refrigerant went away through the compressor's bushings?
It's virtually impossible to make them totally leakproof if they have to rotate...

AC Pressure Switch for Yaris

Our Yaris needed a new pressure switch and our Firestone dealer said no one sells just the switch. The only way to get the switch was to purchase the hose and switch assembly from Toyota for $275. Ugh. I spent hours on line researching this and finally discovered a company in the good old USA that can provide a brand new Denso replacement switch for $39. Check out www.sourceoneautoparts.com in Michigan. They have a replacement switch for the Yaris, and it is part number 88719-33020.

Had this issue last year had it filled by a shop in august 2013 up until now it's still working... Can is not strong enough to fill it if it's completely empty due to switch not turning it on.. But this may just be on my situation...
