Hmm 16k miles and my drivers side door lock no longer works..

So my drivers side door lock actuator no longer works now. Annoying to have to use the key to lock and unlock the door now instead of being able to use the remote. Sucks cause i never have time to drop it off at the dealer. I guess it will be a good time to get my a/c smell looked at at the same time.

Could the battery in the remote be the problem?

The A/C smell is normal, but are you sure it's an actuator and not a fuse?

if it still works with the key then it's the actuator that has gone out....

Just a thought - does the "child lock" feature also disable the drivers side locks and perhaps you accidentally turned it on? I don't know if it does or not because I've never tried it.

the child locks are only slide pins that disable the rear doors inner handle.

When mine stops, its usually not a battery or the actuator. Its the cable rubbing and getting stuck on a useless piece of plastic(that is now removed). I have crappy aftermarket door locks though.

I have power locks, but no keychain thingy. Extends the life of the actuators.
I use a key to get in, actuators to lock up on the way out.
I have 25k now, BTW.
Let us know how you make out....

I hope my child never tries to escape out of the driver's door. That would mean that he was driving or he crawled over the seats to get out of the driver's door!

Your actuators are still moving when you unlock with a key.

Only the drivers door dosnt work i think its cause i alawys double click my rmote to unlock all doors so that partically actuator works double time. I have aftermarket speakers i hope they dontt try to claim when they were isntalled something happend to the actuator cause its been doing it for awile before i even got the speakers
