Exclamation Important Recall Information

PLEASE READ - I AM AWARE THERE ARE A FEW THREADS ON THIS - BUT I HAVE THE BUILD DATES LISTED OF THE AFFECTED VEHICLES.

I've been waiting for a recall notice on my Yaris for a month now. So, fed up, I decided to call my dealer. They told me that my Yaris is fine and is my wife’s because our manufacturing date is after 9th of April 2007.

The Yaris that are affected and need to be taken to dealer to be fixed were manufactured between 19th August 2005 and 9th April 2007.

If you own a Yaris that has a build date between 19th August 2005 and 9th April 2007 and have not yet received a recall notice I suggest you take it to any Toyota Dealer and or at least ring a Toyota Dealer and ask them.

All that information is on your drivers door pillar in left hand drive countries. In right hand drive countries the information is on your passenger door pillar.

I dunno. It's different in USA. Someone else will be able to answer you. But if your cars build date is December 06 you need to take it to dealer for the recall.

Yup,

Crap that can cause a F I R E !

So unless you want to continue the chance of your Yaris going up in flames, i'd take it to dealer for the free fix.

Hi all.

http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/sho...t=13324&page=5

I have 2 Yarises Sedan. Both manufactured between 19th August 2005 and 9th April 2007. I wrote to Toyota Motor and they answer me that my cars are ok.
Maybe Sedans are free of this kind of affection ??

Maybe, I never specifically asked about sedans, just the Yaris recall.

No, he was mad because he wasn't told whether or not his was affected. A courtesy notice saying something along the lines of "Yaris recall in effect for some owners. Lucky for you you're not one of them" would solve the problem of having to call the dealer to see if yours is affected

No I did not want a recall on my Yaris, the last thing I want to have to do is go to the dealer on my own time to have them fix something that they (Toyota) messed up in the first place.

Krayzee.jojo was right, i just wanted toyota to let me know if we (my wife and I both own a Yaris each) had a recall or not.

I just got an email about the notice from my dealership, but I had already gave them my VIN and my yaris is one of the ones recalled, so I'm going tomorrow for the free fix. Has anyone done this yet?
