nope...I don't think so. If the car was a few years older, maybe but I think you'll be fine.

Will probably be just fine.
BTW, the NETZ emblem doesn't really belong on the rear hatch. |

I shaved my emblems at home, and all it really is fairly easy. Make sure it's a warm or hot sunny day. You need a flat razor to help scrape the badges away without killing the paint, and some sort of cleaning solution (dish soap and a slightly rough rag to ensure no ugly lines are left over after taking the emblems off). Simply peel the emblems off, if they persist to be stuck, slowly and gently use the razor to help peel it away from the car. The T emblem (Toyota symbol) is stuck on the car with two studs as well as 3-M tape. Don't remove unless you have a filler or replacement emblem.

I used fishing line and a hair dryer and it worked wonderfully. Heated it up with the hair dryer, used the fishing line, and everything came off in about three minutes, then I cleaned off the remaining residue with windex, and voila! No shadow, no badge! I personally wouldn't recommend using razors if there's something a bit safer to use.

Far, FAR, *FAR* easier way to remove the badges than a sharp blade and risking scratching your paint: Just grab some dental floss or fishing line, 'saw' through the goo/tape holding them to your car, just simply rubbing your thumb on the leftover goop will roll it into little bits that flake off without risking that fragile paint.

Didn't think about fishing line or dental floss, but deffinately a recommendation. I didn't use the razor myself because it just came right off. The soap got the little bit of dirt build up around where the tape was, and it looked perfect immedeatly and looks just as clean now. It kills me how many cops have no clue what type of car I drive. They even ask me to spell it. (Two tickets in one month and now someone broke into my car and stole some CD's (my entire collection) and broke my HD stereo trying to pry it out.)

Answer: No, not if done correctly. Wash area WELL before and after, and it should be fine.

Leave that area (wax around that area) unwaxed for about a month . Give your car time to "tan" Well actually "fade"
