Maybe check another dealer in your area, and make sure the first dealer isn't trying to sell you the iPod connection kit?

Here are pics of the part I bought - 86190-53010:

And the plug, pre-wired in the car, shown at the sedan location. As you found, on the hatchback it should be around the gear shifter. This is harness D75, I believe, if you want to be technical. Note the four wires - 2 red, 1 green, 1 grey- and the grey plug.
Does anyone know where I can get the part (86190-53010) for the $30 sale price?

According to the service manual, only Sedans used the 4 pin jack, but considering that only 4 pins are used, it really doesn't matter.

Check out the post below, as I suspect the switching mechanism within your port may be damaged:

2.6 or 2.6K ?

I believe that jack is a Scion one, as the Yaris one has small text that is perpendicular, rather than parallel to the flap.

Ah, that part number is definitely the Scion one, but as long as the pinout is the same and the switched pin has a ~2.2K resistor, it would work.

Can you snap a pic of which head unit you have as well?

Actually that's OK. I was able to verify by the model number that it is an AUX capable head unit. Did you verify the resistance as ohms or kohms?

Grab a 2.2k resistor from Radio Shack and try a quick test:

With the 4 pin connector to the jack the wire order should be green, red, grey, red.

Take the 2.2K resistor and stick it into the red (opposite the green) and the grey and then press the aux button on the radio and see if it goes into aux mode.

If the jack and cable came off a Scion, then the radio end may be pinned incorrectly.

The image below shows the radio connector of a Yaris, looking into the holes.

ALI: Aux Left
ARI: Aux Right
ASGN: Ground
AUXI: Switch input to enable aux mode.

Make sure that the red and black (or grey) above go to AUXI for the Red and ASGN for the black or grey wire.

I got it

Radio 11807

Is a 8 pin set up

In just added a 2.2k resistor to pin 19 and 18

But 18 pin is empty so I found random pin that fit the socket and made the connection with the radio

Everything works now

Thanks a bunch

I can't find the the part like this post, so I'm doubtful.
