Throttle or engine racing or clutch slipping?

Hey there folks.

When I let off the clutch and barely give it any throttle I gradually speed up normally, but if I get into the throttle at all it will accelerate and then rev up and the tach shows that it revs up to about 500-1000 more rpm then will go back down and accelerate up to normal speed.

Does not feel like the gearbox is slipping, feels nice and tight.

Hoping it is just an electric problem with the electric throttle sensor.

Can you give me an idea where to start looking?

If I just drive uber conservative it is not noticable, but if I am trying to get somewhere I notice it.

Thank you.

Might be the clutch but it feels tight with no grinding.

Sure sounds like clutch. Put it in 3rd or 4th and at around 3000rpm floor it. If your RPMs go up and the vehicle doesn't accelerate accordingly, it's time for a clutch. It's best to do clutches asap if they are slipping. Otherwise you will likely need to replace the flywheel as well.
Cheers.
