Dragon Cruise

June 23 , 2007

I would like to organize a FAMILY friendly cruise at Deal's Gap Tenn.( www.dealsgap.com ) If you have children under the age of 3 I would NOT recommend bringing them along on the actual cruise . Nothing against children mind you , I have some of my own , I just don't think their little neck muscles could take it . Keep in mind this will NOT be some balls out , white knuckle , OH MY GOD yellin' , tire squealin' , testoterone driven , drive from hell . I was hopin for a nice leisurely , "Oh thats nice Dear " pace . On the flipside , after the cruise later on in the day , if you wanna see what your Yaris will do .......I will be more man than glad to give a first hand demonstration.

If you are smart and/or can afford to do so . I would take June 22 -24 off . Arrive at Fontana Village Resort early Friday . Spend Friday with girlfriend/wife/family doing one or several of the activities that the area has to offer . Horseback riding along Mtn trails , whitewater rafting , hiking , fishing , pottery classes , chillin by the pool and more. Cherokee NC ( 30 min away ) has a ton of stuff for kids like tubing down a calm river , fishing at the trout farm , not to mention all the Native American Shows , also excellent shopping for the ladies . If you got a little Vegas in you , well Cherokee also has a Casino .
The Cruise itself will be on Saturday and will last about 4 hours , RAIN or SHINE .

Fontana Resort Village has many different types of accomodations . Double Queen , Single King , and even Cabins . Prices start at $69 a night . I'll post more info on this later .

If you wanna see what I would like to do ( toned down a little of course ) check out the following link . Click on Videos , then click on either/both HTM Mountain Cruise and HTM Mountain Cruise II . I am NOT renting a helicopter like I did in HTM MTN cruise II to get video footage , but I will bring all my car camera mounts so that we can make a Yaris Dragon Vid .

Post here if you are interested .

HMS Yaris, could you possibly change terms to "family friendly" instead of "girlfriend friendly"? I am a female Yaris owner after all, and my boyfriend would be riding with ME...

It sounds like fun--I am from NC and have been on Miata club cruises on Dragon a few times

Noted Kuro . Change has been implemented . Looks like there will be a nice cruise . I will post more on the resort info very soon . Glad to see some interest . A friend of mine is Editor @ Siphon Mag . He says if we can get enough cars , we might get a few pics published possibly with a story ........

Kuro , was that your Black Yaris that I ran down on the Dragon Sat ?

HTM: what a nice guy

No it was not me on Sat--you would not have run me down! Seriously I have not been out to Dragon in Yaris yet--have not been out there at all in a while.

I dont think there is a much nicer site for a club cruise than Deals Gap--there really is nothing else like it. Props to you for thinking of it!

I've been doin cruises at the dragon for about 3 years now . I will also hold the Big Daddy of them all cruises in July (14 or 21 ) around the the Blue Ridge Parkway/Cherokee area . The 7th annual HIGH TACH MOTORSPORTS Mountain Cruise . The HTM Cruise will not be car specific ( as you can see in the vids ) ( go to www.hightach.com) . HTM is still remodeling the new website .

I hope to make the world jealous of the Cruises ................................

Killboy pics are up , check out Deals Gap post ...again

Kuro , got a single , twin sister ?

Just another friendly bump with tips .

Before coming to the Dragon , PLEASE do these things .

1. Check your brakes . Bleed if necessary . If you can afford to do so buy new pads from Toyota and put them in trunk .
2. Get that "TIRE SHINE CRAP" off of your tires . You will be using all of your tires including the sidewall .
3. Bring/buy a tire gauge with a bleeder valve . Scratch that . Ya'll can use my gauge .
4. Leave hubcaps/wheel covers at home . You WILL lose them after the wheels heat up and flex .
5. Bring long sleeve shirts or hoodies . It get chilly at night . If you are from The Great State of Canada , shorts and tank top will be perfect .

I have more car cam mounts than video cams , sooo bring your video cams .

Can you say "Yaris Dragon Video"
