some minor problems after installing my HID kit, any professionals?

hello mates,

I've just installed my HID kit 2day and I have some minor problems with it

1st is with the level of light, it's not balanced ... can I do it or does it need professional work???

2nd is that the right hand side bulb is shaking (the light is not stable) like if it is not tightened ... what can I do about that???

3rd when I turn the high beam on ... it seems to me like if one is faster that the other ... any solution?

sorry for the stupid questions (well, if they are)

but I want ur help please

cYa

Well I am no expert, but for the level of brightness and the delay for high beams, it does sound like bad wiring somewhere...

In terms of beams not balancing...

Look at the headlight casing... there should have a small 'white cross' which you 'insert' a screw driver and adjust your beam up & down accordingly... please do that against a wall preferably at night... or in garage...

Also you would need to rebalance your beam (lower the low beam) so your HID dont glare oncoming cars during night time... the beam should not be higher than a regular sedan's right or left rear view mirror...

Cheers

What kit do you have?

I don't know what you mean by balanced - care to expand?

As far as the bulb shaking- are you sure it is properly seated and the clips locked on it? If yes, then you may have a problem with the kit.

A delay in coming on? - Does your kit use halogen bulbs for the high beam? Do you have a harness that runs the high beams off the battery or through the stock wiring?

the shaking problem, it's done ... I double checked the bulb and it is o'right @ the time

for the delay problem , not yet solved (My kit is low and hi HID in one bulb - the bulb moves up & down)

for the balancing I'll try it 2morrow

Thanks alot guys for the help

waiting for the proper answer for the delay issue

does your wiring include have just one hook up off the stock harness? meaning the stock plug for your original headlights plugs into a relay that activates both ballasts? Like was asked before, what kit did you buy? if you have the same kit i do, the reasoning behind that is the same as any type of parallel wiring scheme.........the first bulb has to fire up and then it will send its current to the other bulb....i was redoing a bathroom and added a secondary light and just tapped off the original light, when i first hit the switch there was a little delay, and when i turned it back off and did it again the delay was so small if at all any. so what im saying is if you wired it like i said, and if you fire it up, let it warm up, turn it off, and wait a couple seconds and it still has a delay yes you have a problem.....but if you do that and theres hardly a delay, its just normal.....

get us a link to the kit you bought.....that would help a lot of us out in answering some of your questions.....

It's karma for installing HID's into reflectors. It's the spirits of all the drivers you're going to be pissing off with that ricey refleting all over the place kit (lemme guess, you bought 10K to look "blue"). Throw it in the garbadge, the stock reflector halogen set up works well.

here is the kit i got
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....DME:B:AAQ:AU:1

I didn't pay the money to throw the kit away, and I'm not using stock reflectors in my setup
By the way, my HID kit is 6000K Super White, I don't like the blue look, just wanted good light source , and even if it was 12000K, it is up2me, I can't imagine my car running on stock wheels, but I don't offend any one for doing it :) It's what they like (maybe)

BACK TO THE HID PROBLEM

the kit is using it's own wiring harness, and nothing is stock

and the delay is not that noticable, so if it's normal, I'll live with it

thanx alot guys for the help

cYa

so your stock harness plugs into the ballast...then out of the ballast into your headlight.......and that it?

no

the ballasts are connected to the stock harness, and from the ballaststo the headlights, it is a new harness that came with the kit
