Is Genuine Toyota Motor Oil better?

Is Genuine Toyota Motor Oil better than different brands in the stores such as (Castro, Mobil etc...). I called a Toyota dealer and they said Toyota oil is made especially for toyota and using it will make the the engine last longer.

Yeah and Toyota has special air in their tires, special water in the radiator and special.........

While Toyota oil may be good, it is nothing special.

If Toyota's oil was better than the big brands, Toyota would advertise and prove it. It would become a profit center and an incentive for owners to bring their car in for service. No it is not better than the name brands.

if they buy it in bulk they usually buy the cheapest they can find. I have heard that bottled Honda oil has high levels of molly(anti wear additive) kind of like factory fill when you buy your car new. I am not sure what toyota does as far as their bottled oil.

I would really like to know how this is possible. I mean, if you use it in a Nissan
does it have the same effect? Or will it have a harmful effect on a non-Toyota engine!
I love how people make up crap like this.

yes that's true, I was wondering about using mobile 1 synthetic 5w30, however I heard the viscosity changes a lot under heat compared to the other brands. Is that true?

I was also told this when I worked for Toyota. The bottled oil is formulated by Mobil. Bulk at the dealer may be Mobil, and should be if they are advertising Genuine Toyota Motor Oil, but it also may be up to dealers to choose what oil they have in their bulk tanks. The two dealers I worked at had the Genuine Toyota/Mobil in their bulk tanks.

The only thing genuine about Toyota oil will be the label. Otherwise it's the same dinosaur juice the winning bidder puts in containers branded for other customers.
