05 AU Yaris Stock Speakers + Alpine iDA-X001

Hi guys,

Please be gentle, I know next to nothing about car audio, but I want to have full use of my iPod from the head unit. The unit I've got in mind is the Alpine iDA-X001 which I've managed to find for a pretty decent price.

What I need to know is, would this unit blow my stock speakers? Or will they be okay with the new head unit?

I'd rather not replace the speakers as well as the head unit, so if the iDA-X001 is just too much for them can anyone suggest any other head units that I could look at?

Thank for your help!

TFS

You aren't going to blow your speakers unless you are deaf and can't hear the stock speakers popping when too much is pushed through.

Just make sure that you listen to your music at moderate levels...the speakers will scream "I can't handle anymore" before you blow them, so listen out for that too.

But I would reccommend that you get some aftermarket speakers in the future, and I think after you install the H/U you will want to. With going with a nice H/U like that you are going to miss out on a lot of its sound capabilites with our sad little speakers. LOL

Hope this helped,
Myt

Thanks mate :) It did help, it was suggested to me by a co-worker that I should check to make sure that the speakers could handle it first before getting the unit.

I'm sure I will upgrade the speakers at some point...but for now, I just want to get away from using an FM transmitter.
