Vitz (1st Gen) Tid Bits
I have been able to decipher a few things from the Vitz (First Generation 1999-2005) Owner's Manual (Japanese language) that may be of interest to some:
1) O/D OFF button on the automatic gear shift lever is used to deactivate the 4th gear and, only the first three gears are functional ('O/D OFF' legend is lit on the instrument panel). This 3-gear configuration is power-efficient during a descent down an incline or, when trying to overtake another vehicle. With the O/D engaged, all four gears are in action again. 2) The fuel tank capacity of the FF-engined Vitz (1.0l & 1.3l) is 40 liters. 3) The tyre pressure for the 155/80R & 175/65R FF-engined Vitz is 2.2 kg/cm2 or 31 psi. |
