195 45 17 on a 17x7 wheel

Hello

was wondering if anyone has tried this combination and can comment.

I live in Australia where only summer tires are required.

If you're just going for look they should fit fine.

Haven't tried it, but it will certainly fit; OEM fitment is 205/45/17. Curious why you're thinking about this oddball size?

You didn't mention what year Yaris you have, but this is pretty close to original diameter.

NSW road rules:-

You are allowed to fit wheels up to 26mm wider than original.
You may increase the vehicle track by up to 26mm.
You may change the overall tyre/wheel diameter by up to 15mm.
The wheels and tyre must not rub on any part of the body or suspension throughout the full range of motion.

If you go outside these rules, you need to get an engineer's certificate that the vehicle is roadworthy, register the certificate with RMS and keep it in the car at all times. Also make sure the insurance company knows about the new wheels.

OEM: 17x6.5, 205/45/17 = 24.3 (616mm) dia.

OP's plan: 17x7.0, 195/45/17 = 23.9 (608mm) dia.

Not here in Australia. Factory fit is 14x5, 175/70/14 or 15x5, 175/65/15

I guess I am thinking of pure looks. I think 17 inch would stand out. I would rather go with 17 x 6.5 but it's exterely hard to find any of this in Australia.
My Yaris is a 2009 Yaris with stock suspension and 185 60 15 original.

205/45/17 is OEM factory fitment, and it doesn't rub on stock suspension.
