Strut problem?

I have 2 new kyb struts in front of me ready to go on.

I got tire off and see the rubber bellow is torn.

I talked to KYN directly and they said there is a piece that needs to be cut out and reused or put new one in.

It seperates metal on metal contact.

I was going to get these but he said it may not work.

Does anyone here changed strut on 2007 yaris Hb 2 DR.

I am confused as to what this plastic piece is that he says needs to be cut and reused or buy another as its part of the strut assembly.

From what he described its a hard plastic piece connected to the bellow.

I do not believe he is talking about the plastic piece that goes between shock and round metal cups on top/bottom of strut.

Here are the struts that I have

UPDATE:

I see what he means by the bellow

Cant seem to find this exact bellow though as its different then the one I linked above

It sounds like they're talking about the bump stop. I had to cut mine 1.4 inches when installing my Tein springs to make room for the additional strut travel. Something like this:

No he was not talking about the bump stop or plastic spacer that seats between spring and and strut cup.

I realize i need to cit 1.5 off the bump stops as my springs are 1.5 drop.

I took a look at my strut closer and need a special boot/bellow that has flange ontop that sits ontop of spring.

Looks like I need to track this down.

Looks like I found a work around.

I can use the stock boot and cut the ripped part out. Then use these bellows underneath.

Ebay looks like the only option in Canada here....though the KYB ones may do the job.
