Rubbing problems
I just got 16x7 40+ offset rims with 185/55/16 tires. I got pretty bad rubbing in the front fenders. I am getting them rolled but one of the clips holding the top part of the fender ripped out. Will that effect it? Dissapointed i dont fit well. might wanna trade with someone for some 15 inch rims n tires

Pretty sure that fender liner should be tucked INSIDE the fender and not sticking out like that.
I have 205/50/16 and I don't rub that bad. |

Cut the portion of the liner not secured and remove it
185/55/16 is a pretty meaty tire same size as stock but a larger diameter so another 25.4 mm larger rolling diameter than stock |

For 16x6-9 195/40 or 195/45 are my fav but its a harsher ride with less ground clearance

Yeah man, the fender liner goes inside the fender.
I made that same mistake and I was wondering "How come my tires are rubbing so bad?" XD Try tucking the liner back behind the fender and see if your rubber isn't as bad. |

You probably will not have a fender lip to snap the liner back into if youre going to roll them though

correct! when liner removed road debris will be able to get into engine compartment.
if you look in engine compartment you'll be able to see tire through the gap between fender and fender apron

I wouldnt recommend removing the liner completely. Yes road debris will be able to get into the engine bay and will get everything very dirty and could let rocks/water in which could cause issues.
I just cut the upper portions of the liner that rubs on the tire and leave the rest especially the portion that sits inbetween the front of the tire and the engine bay. |
