Rear wiper blade freezing up...fix?

I notice anything below -10 or so the rear wiper does not work that well as the blade gets frozen up(I have new oem rubber btw)

I came across this pic and it shows arm vertical.
This would make the rubber more in contact with heated part of window.

I suppose I would have to modify the motor mounting counter clockwise?

feedback/opinions always appreciated and hope this is a worthy post?

it must have a different motor installed. our motor is at rest on the left and rotates clock-wise. in this set up it would only wipe the small corner and rub all down the side. logically it probably has some other motor mounted that rotates counter clock-wise. or maybe you can take the motor apart and switch the direction somehow. that would be interesting...

This is how Canadian model Hatchback models should have had wiper mounted.

How the resting position is know, horizontal bottom of window the blade is not resting on heated part of window.

There are diys on here about getting wiper to vertical rest position. It does not involve replacing any parts with something different.

I will search google.

This mod would definitly keep wiper blade from freezing up which is really, really annoying.Like i mentioned anything -10 and under(Perhaps less even) and the rear wiper is useless.

Got it!

This will definitly keep the blade in the warm/er zone of the window.

Should'int have the blade freezing up...hopefully.

Some have mentioned the rear wiper as not working properly,or doing a poor job in general but for me with new rubber the wiper works superb in +0 temps.

Others have removed completly but personally I could not see myself not having a rear wiper as its an essential for me.

I don't ever use it because I figure it had build-up and would make things worse, but I like the idea of it looking all broken but functions correctly. also, it looks line it's more aerodynamic in the up position...
