Toyota Silver Dash Kit

I decided to upgrade my dash by purchasing the genuine Toyota Dash Kit in Silver. This color matches the factory silver center console perfectly. The kit also comes in Carbon Fibre from Toyota as well.

The Toyota part number for the Dash Kit in Silver is C0048-52016-AS (and can also be ordered in Carbon Fibre). The kit comes with 7 pieces.

-driver side door control overlay
-driver side cup holder overlay
-driver side heater vent overlay
-passenger side door control overlay
-passenger side cup holder overlay
-passenger side heater vent overlay
-gear shifter bezel overlay

The kit is easily applied using the pre-attached 3M double-sided automotive tape. The plastic overlays are a perfect fit and smooth cut to fit over the various parts. Installation took about 30 minutes, because you have to clean the dash first.

*** Note the contradiction by Toyota when they tell you NOT to use alcohol to clean your dash, but then include alcohol prep pads to do the work!!! ***

Here is what is included in the kit...

I guess these just cover what is there and not actual replacement pieces...correct? Hence the tape,,,,duh.

Interesting to all the folks using Armor All.....read the warning from Toyota. Interesting.

Check the size of your pics...think maybe they are to large for posting

Yes, they just stick on (hate that term, because these are essentially permanent). You don't have to remove or unsnap any of the original components.

And yes... funny how they bash Armor All, and pimp Pledge (of all things... furniture polish???). I am sketchy about Armor All anyhow; that stuff is way too shiny.

You know that really does look okay. How does it match up with the plate covering the radio and air/heat controls?

Also, you got a price on these and the carbon fibers?

Very nice interior upgrade, Meteorite_Marty!
The silver dash kit is much better looking than the CF IMO.

Wow, how much for the silver kit then? Would any of you Canadian members be willing to purchase and then ship a set to a US member (after receiving proper amount of money for the kit + shipping)?

I got my kit for 190 CDN. It normally sells for 240 CDN. I got a discount, and can likely get that price again. The Carbon Fibre and Silver are both in stock when I bought mine 2 weeks ago.

I'd be willing to ship if someone was interested in me picking some up.

To answer the other question. the silver is the exact match as the radio/console from the factory.

I can take a more panaramic shot from the back seat that would show the whole kit agains the center console as well, if anyone would like.

Anyone interested can PM me, and provide postal code. I can look up shipping rates. If many people order, I can look at asking for better discount than even what I was provided for myself (having only bought one kit). I will do my best to help out.

Keep in mind, we pay 13% sales tax on top of the $190.00. This amounts to $215 CDN.

With the US economy tanking, the CDN to US dollar exchange rate equates to $165 US.

Just thinking aloud, but couldn't you get the same affect by painting the pieces to the color of your choice?

The dash is impressively easier to pull apart than you might think. As far as paint you wouldn't have to get too fancy of paint. But vinyl dye isn't that bad of an idea, I've done it a couple of times with my struggles in the RC world, but dying something that large would be a PITA. There used to be a guy on here that did water screens. That would be the ultimate in luxury.
