Ok, call me stoopid but what does missing second mean? You don't get the transmission into second gear crisply so you slow down while you're off the throttle?
Quote:
very nice and congrats on the 1/4. about you missing second is it possible you weren't clutching all the way in, you know in the heat of the moment you're not going all the way in?
It isn't that, but...

you grind the piss out of it for a second (generally that slows people down too).
YEP! The stick will just jam on you halfway, but you've already started to let the clutch go and GRRRKKKKKKK fail. Its my presumption that this is caused by the engine bucking around and screwing with the linkage. Sound about right?

I think they Yaris has pretty TALL gears. At least compared to the other FWD cars I've raced in
Did I just hear you say you were going to swap a 6 speed? Maybe my problems with the gearing are actually rooted in that open diff.

I installed a boost gauge and GUESS WHAT?! 6 psi in third. What that means I don't know, but taking it to a dyno just jumped up the list of crap to do. I'm considering getting the following:

http://www.bulletproofautomotive.com...il.php?ID=5196
http://www.bulletproofautomotive.com...il.php?ID=5195
http://www.bulletproofautomotive.com...il.php?ID=5203

That should help put a little more power to the ground. We shall see...

Two more things... one, I looked back at my slips and realized I ran a .0000 reaction time on one run. LOL, it was the 2.2x 60' run where I missed second. Its the one that got away. That and I got 34 MPG on a tank where I ran @ the track. Yaris FTW.

Is this the quickest USDM car so far?
If there's one thing I learned from drag racing, it's the fact that i'm not the quickest shifter in the world, but atleast i don't break trannies and gears. :)

Documented. That RWD Drift Yaris would kill Garm and I both, but if you don't post the slip it don't count!

Did bulletproof confirm the C-One damper will work on the USDM NCP91 cars (since it's not listed to the JDM version either according to C-One)?

probably shifting too fast...or that the tranny is hot from punishing it...

i take it you've never drag raced...

nice times though chino...but it always sucks when someone else can drive your car faster than you can...

It won't last long. I'm getting better.

Don't forget I beat his 60' on that run by .2 seconds. If I could put a good front and back half together I think I can run a 14.6-14.7 @ 6 psi. That isn't bad if you ask me.

Noooo, I did talk to them but I talked to Garm too and he convinced me to try the torque damper first and see how that goes before I make the leap to the tranny mount. From what I hear (another member here has it) it pretty much makes the car undrivable under about 2,000 RPM.

However, it should fit. Bulletproof was a vendor here back in the YW stone age and they pushed those products hard, but like I said I'll double check.

please do, as everywhere else it says it's not designed for the NCP91

here it is installed on the NCP13, if you want to be the $300 guinea pig I wont stop you.

that's the one i've been talking about.

the other two parts you have listed fit no problem as long as you're ok with the NVH. (C-One lists those for the NCP91).

i had Energy Suspension polyurethane mounts on my xrs and it was perfectly driveable....just transferred more engine vibration thru to the steering wheel and chassis and stuff....but in no way was in uncomfortable or remotely undriveable.

sure stopped the wheel hop when launching...

Agreed. I didn't have too many problems when I went to drag a few weeks ago...but my car is also a lot slower than your's and Charles'.

you don't shift while on the track? haha.

i know you bang through the gears coming out of the corners.

unless you're autoxing where it's a 1-2 shift and that's it.

either way, just glad people are getting out there. :D

Tires came in today. If the stars align and my torque damper gets here tomorrow I MIGHT run tomorrow, but if not it'll be Tuesday. I want that 100 MPH trap!
