POLL: Which spoiler? 3dr vs 5dr LB.

I finally broke down and ordered a spoiler for my car. It's paint matched and should be in today. I went ahead and got the smaller OEM looking spoiler. The more and more I looked at the "rally" type spoiler in photos on this site the more I couldn't help but think that the rally spoiler looks better on 5dr cars and the small spoiler looks better on 3dr cars.

That said, I do think the rally style spoiler looks better on the 09+ facelift.

Opinions?

I really like my rally spoiler. it flows very well with the body I think.

I have the RS spoiler from a really old group buy on here from Japan.
I like the rally RS look.

The small one looks good too in my opinion as well. Its how you end up dressing your car in the end, that makes a difference.

Post pics when its installed :)

I've long been thinking about getting the small OEM spoiler as well. However, one thing that worries me is that the installation requires drilling holes into the metal of the car. Is it possible that, years from now, rust will form around the area where the holes were drilled? By default, you'd be removing the paint and rust protection from that particular spot. I'm so concerned about this that I haven't bought the spoiler. Anyone have an expert opinion on this?

No rust here, have had my RS spoiler on since...October 2007 if memory serves. I know that was my first mod done few months after purchasing the car in June 2007.

the OE "small" type spoiler I got pre-painted on ebay just attaches with double-sided tape. seems really secure after sitting overnight.

Did you use the 3m spongy double sided tape? I applied that + screws and its held. That tape is strong as hell, not to mention waterproof

Just apply some rust-oleum to the holes - it's actually listed as a step in the installation instructions.

If done correctly, it won't be an issue. Don't worry about it and get that spoiled you've been wanting!

I agree it's about the complete package that makes the difference, my rule of thumb is the bigger the spoiler the lower and car and the stance is needed.

Priority one mod are springs, follow by wheels. anything else is icing onthe cake.

Thanks everyone who replied to my question regarding rust. Sounds like it's not a concern at all, so I'll now look more seriously into getting the spoiler.
