2013 Yaris SE - What to mod?

I just got a 2013 SE and am wondering what to mod. I found this DIY page, but it looks dated, not sure how much applies to 2013 year.
http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=365

Anyway, here is a short list of a few things that make me sad the Yaris doesn't have, in order of annoyance:
  • Arm rest!! (why in the world not stock on all models?)
  • Auto-headlights (always on, except when ignition is off)
  • 12v or USB power in rear
  • additional 12v or USB power in front (passenger)
  • dome lights in rear
  • Power lift hatch
  • Backup cam and sensors

I can probably add more to this list after more driving time with it. Maybe auto-steering google tech?

Stuffing a small pillow between the seats is all I've needed on past cars I've had without an armrest, and I do 3,000 mile road trips twice a year.

If you have the weird-looking base radio, press the big multi-knob, then rotate it to get to the equalizer and fade/balance menus.

If you don't have cruise control, but want it, all you need is the switch stalk on yours. Plug it in, and you have cruise control. Member CTScott sells them with all the wires and screws you need.

Google only seems interested in self-driving Lexus SUV's right now. They've got a whole fleet of them roaming the streets where I live. They do a pretty good job.

I thought the same thing. I've got 50,000 miles on my 2012 and I don't really care to have one anymore.

Audio issue fixed. I figured it was user error but had to get used to the funky menu. I'm eventually ditching the stock radio for an in-dash GPS, HD deck, Blutooth, hopefully with backup camera.

Updated my original post to add "dome lights in rear".

Arm rest is not my preference, but the wife. She's got carpel tunnel and maybe the lack of armrest is a problem, it was her first complaint after spending time in the Yaris.

Insurance discounts for "always on" day running lights.

I did a rear dome light mod to my 2014. Totally worth the hassle. Need to do it to my wife's 2012.

Have you done your wife's 2012 dome light yet? Maybe you can give us some heads up mate?

First thing the wife noticed in our 2013 yaris, especially with the young one throwing stuff around from the baby car seat.

Really appreciate all your posts in here. Cheers guys,

Ian
