Clutch Replacement

I'm preparing to replace the clutch and tranny in my car anything I need to look out for or keep in mind before I start? The only gotcha I can see from the manual is the engine will need to be suspended but that's the only thing that stuck out to me.

Well that job sucked...FYI to anyone who buys a used transmission make sure that there's no dowels stuck in the case before you attempt to install it will make your life a living hell if there is.

That's a bummer. Nothing worse than wrestling that thing in there only to have it not seat.

You're telling me...I got the newish transmission in and its running with no leaks as far as I can tell. A few more days of breaking in the clutch and its good to go.

Also make sure you drain the oil BEFORE you pop the half shafts out its a lot less messy if you do...ask me how I know.

All things considered it's not that bad of a job and really shouldn't take more than 3-4 hours to swap a clutch if you have a hoist, but on your back like I had to do though the 9 hours it took me seems reasonable. With that said I'm not looking forward to doing it again.

Lets just say my house smells of gear oil and many 4 letter words were said while grabbing my drain pan.
