does the shuddering only happen while the car is cold? Last year in winter my car always shuddered if i didn't give it 3.5k rpm plus (..ickky :/) during first take off in the morning. Then was fine once 'everything' warmed up.
this winter i've had no shuddering at all so far. maybe your cars clutch area is just having a mid life crisis? unless its happening all the time then, hope it works out nicely for you |

Mine does the same. It briefly went away for a few weeks after bleeding the master and slave cylinder but eventually came back.

Oh gosh yes! If your clutch is acting up FIRST THING you want to do is bleed the clutch slave. You want to do that like once a year because the clutch is used about ten times more frequently than the brakes. Pump the pedal about 20 times with the bleeder valve on the slave open to change out most of the fluid too. The fluid at the slave gets black and nasty from all the exercise.
If that fixes the problem for a while, but it comes back, you either didn't do it right or you need to change the slave cylinder or the master cylinder at the clutch pedal. Thatll fix it!

Here's a video too.
http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sourc...gKUBj-wJw3zjwA http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=52926 Thanks to bronsin! ! Here i found out by a simple search whats wrong. Or what others seem to suggest is a simple fix. Something about to much air in your clutch. Which shares the Same system as your breaks hydraulic system. Dont quote me if i explained this wrong. I'm typing on a phone so don't have time for most details. Release it through the valve. Google clutch shudder fix yaris for more information. Your clutch should be good. No need to replace untill you try this first. Try to use the sites search engine before you type your problem. We might all just get luck and find that someone else has been in the same situation as yourself. . . Last edited by valchrist90731; 07-24-2015 at 01:57 PM. |

I'll certainly look into valchrist90731s advice.
if a clutch is needed i got some price quotes today Dealer= $1700 Private mechanic=$600-$700 I asked my mechanic if he is familiar with such a job and he told me he did the clutch on an 05 Nissan Altima yesterday and he did one on a Mazda 3 last week.. Looks like when its needed private mechanic gets the job. Thanks all.

Chatter:*Clutch chatter is an excessive vibration felt just as the pedal is being released and the clutch is beginning to engage. To test for this condition, set the emergency brake, depress the clutch pedal, and rev the engine to about 2000 rpm. Slowly release the pedal so you can feel when the clutch starts to engage. This is the point a clutch will begin to shudder. Clutch chatter is typically caused by glazed or oil contaminated clutch facings. The engine and transmission mounts and alignment dowels should be checked as misalignment will cause major clutch chatter as well as damaging parts. |
