Port&Paint Intake Manifold

hello. I have done some extensive porting on the intake manifold. I cut out the o ring valley and added JB weld as a filler in holes. I also filled o ring gap and added JB weld to the OUTSIDE where there is a sharp corner on the inside. then I went through like 100 sheets of sandpaper.

then I taped it up.

then a few coats of paint, some tape, and some more paint.
then just a little clear coat...

it turned out pretty ok...

Nicely done! I assume you have a 1zz throttle body to take advantage of your work or are planning on getting one? Even with the stock TB i bet she growls something fierce now!

I got it out of a pull-and-pay. I think like $22
I spent about 2 weeks slowly sanding and feeling...
it was a labor of love...

I got one from LKQ for $30. I spent some time polishing it to.
2000 grit!

I plan to do the "chip swap" but i'm not sure what's going on in there. the posts make it seem extra easy.

I also just learned about the JDM RS maf sensor and RS vvt-i spool, AND RS coil packs so i'm trying to source them suckers!

Did you seriously manually sand the manifold?! Dude, I dremmel'd it and it still took 4 hrs to completely finish. I feel back for your hands...

well no. I did do a rough cut to get it close, but maybe like.....3 or 4 hours by hand. I still want to sand it more. I had to put it in a bag and put it away out of sight so I would stop messing with it and do something else...

I am pretty sure I still have my stock intake mani. Looks like a lot of work you have done. I would have given you mine just to not throw it away.

For anyone interested in this mod but doesn't want to do it themselves, keep an eye out for the classifieds next week. I may or may not have gotten a MI intake mani and i'll be selling my self ported manifold.

It does make a big difference in throttle response and high end power, especially if you have the 1zz tb

how much did you pay? (MI intake) I only see them for like $750-$850 and there is no way I could justify paying that much for it...
