Need some help with a 2014 Toyota Yaris...

I recently had something run under my car on the way home from work one night and it managed to smash the driver's splash shield under the car. It's hanging there in pieces along with a stray electrical wire (?) that doesn't appear to connect to anything. Could this be the thermometer sensor?

Anyway, I need a service manual with diagrams for this car. I think I can make the repair myself but I want to make sure that I put everything back where it is supposed to be when I do it.

Many thanks.

You need to follow the wire to see where it goes.

It was indeed the sensor for the thermometer.

I have another question now. The radiator support air deflector that it was attached to was broken and lying atop the splash shield. I can see where it has projections meant to be inserted into something but I haven't a clue where those openings are. Can anyone assist with this or put me in touch with someone who can? I've seen some online exploded diagrams but they don't really show what it connects to.

Have you looked for the service manual on the site? It might be in there somewhere. It sounds like you already found the toyotapartsdirect exploded parts diagrams.

The service manual is fairly large. It ZIPs up to over 100 megabytes.

I have a copy you can download here https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-fp...w?usp=drivesdk

matti no that isn't what I was looking for but I appreciate the post. I downloaded it anyway because it might still come in handy.

kevinj93 yes that may be just what I'm looking for. I downloaded it and I'll give it a bit more of a look later tonight.

Thanks guys! I really appreciate it!

kevinj93 I downloaded and had a look at it. Some of the links (Repair Manual on the start page for instance) aren't working in IE or any other browser. I also haven't found any information relating to my particular concerns but it may just be buried and I haven't teased it out yet.

When you purchased the manual did all of the links work?

Hi MJL,

Yes, it works fine on my PC using Chrome and Microsoft Edge.

There is a fairly large file structure inside the zip archive which needs to be preserved. I used 7-Zip to open the archive then copy the contents to the hard drive.

The top level folder in the archive is "TOYOTA YARIS 2011 GSIC". This will contain a number of files and folders.

If you look in the folder, you will see a file named |START|Internet Explorer.html

I made a desktop shortcut to this file. You should then be able to just double click on the shortcut.

Maybe I’m doing something wrong during the download. I clicked on your link, downloaded it, extracted it with 7zip, and opened it using the included shortcut but if I click on the Repair Manual button underneath the Toyota logo on the home page it says file not found. The URL shows index2.html at the end of the address when I do this and there is no such file in the expanded archive. This is likely the issue.

Perhaps I still might be able to find what I'm looking for though. Or a picture of the radiator air deflectors in situ online might help.

Thanks again!

I suggest you ignore the "Repair Manual" button and look at the sections below.

Try clicking on "Engine/Hybrid System". This will take you to the next menu to drill down to thevarious parts of the system.

Will do. I just wanted to be certain that I wasn't missing anything by not being able to click on the Repair Manual link.

Thank you for this - I was able to make it work on Opera browser on my Linux system.

You seem to have managed to grab the entire manual off the Toyota manual website. Very impressive. I had to look up a pin out for a connector in my dads Toyota Avensis and was wondering about writing a script to grab all the data relating to the vehicle so I didn't have to pay for access again.

Thanks for that - Useful to have the info for the MK3 Yaris if I ever upgrade.

No, I didn't grab it. Another member posted it on the form several years ago. Unfortunately, the original links seem to have got lost. It's probably one of the items that needs to be reposted from time to time.
