its the greenish blue wire on the obd2 diagnostic port right near the hood latch its the farthest left wire the last left column thats the tach wire never use a test light on these obd 2 cars always use a computer safe test light and yes there is a difference between the two test lights. you cant blow up a tach if anybody told you that there stupid you can fry a tach but only if you reverse polarity it by putting power to ground and ground to power but not by trying to hook up a tach wire. if it didnt come with a tach you still have a tach wire. the wiring is the same through every yaris even if they didnt come with a tach its still wired because the ecu still needs a tach signal to know when to fire the coils since there is no distributor

That was the first wire I tried, but after it didnt work, I was told that 09's have a different wire. So I tried that wire and still doesnt work. unless i tapped the wrong green wire.

this is the green wire i tapped on the OBD2

and this is the wire other told me to tap and still didnt work

haha and i thought it would be a quick 30min install...

no it wont but its the lt green wire thats what my wire diagram says are you sure you getting main power i would try re grounding it to the chassis and running the power wire to the cig you might be not getting enough voltage and what kinda of tach is it anyways

I grounded it to the chassis and powered to the deck. I have a Pivot tach, my friend just came back from Japan so I told him to pick it up for me. 24,800 yen didnt want to pay that much but it is a sexy tach~ haha

red is ignition orange is constant 12 volts black is ground white is rpm tach signal i found my old manual so the orange you using is the 12 volts constant wire and you should be able to hook the white wire to the brown wire i believe thats the tach its the same pin as my 08 but my color is green
