rear fender separated!

was doing the speaker install in my gnarish (HB) today, looked in at the fender and saw light. thought it was a little odd, possibly a reflection, so i stuck my head in further, turns out my outer fender has separated from the inner! i don't have a welder to spot weld it back on, but its only about about 1/4 inch apart. I was thinking, would automotive urethane be good enough? it holds glass in, figured it would hold that together, too. Mostly concerned about keeping the inside dry, is all.

I just checked on Crashy, and on her more banged up side hers has a gap. It appears that it wasn't welded, but rather just had the panel adhesive holding that seam together.

should be yellow, correct? I noticed that in there as well, and figured that it was used as sealant / glue along with tack's. kind of makes me feel better knowing that they aren't actually tacked. guess I'll go get some glue!

I think it actually starts off greyish, but discolors to yellow. It looks like the same material that is used on the seams under the carpet.
