How would these look on a Yaris?

4 of these in great shape for $250.00 CAD. 17", 4x100, offset = being investigated...

They would pair with a 205/45R17 performance tire of some sort.

Personally, I don't think they'd suit the car very well. They're kinda ugly IMO.

After having done it for a few seasons, I personally am anti-17s.

Too rough a ride? I do like the look of 16s better.

I'll also chime in and say I'm not a fan of 17s on these cars. Not a fan of the look especially if running drums on the rear, and not worth the compromise in ride quality.

Yeah, tend to agree with you and WeeYari. Never thought about the rear drums. With those wheels, I think it would look a little too 'blingy' for me. Plus, I don't want a harsh ride and I'm sure I'd get that with the very low profile tire I'd have to use. I'll keep my eyes open for a used set of 16s. I'd love to run a slightly lower profile tire in a 205 or so. I have handling in mind as well as looks. Right now with my 15s and the 195/60R15, I'm thinking I'll get a bit of side wall flex, but maybe not too bad. I believe the 195 is suggested to be the max tire width for a 5.5" rim. Also, once I install the TRD sway bar, I don't want to have that benefit negated by my wheel/tire combo. Once the car is back on the road, I'll do some tight cornering and see how the current setup performs.

Go with 195/55R15. I'm just done with my 2nd set of S.Drive, and they have been amazing.

I'll be trying Dunlop next summer

As my car is a pure daily driver, the ride quality was sacrificed too much. Also, even though my 17s are lightweight Enkei wheels, the car has to work too hard to move them.

When it comes to looks, with 16s I find the ratio of body to wheel to tire the right balance. 17s are too much wheel.

Since you are looking at putting these on your 'fun' Yaris which is now putting out 20-something more horses, the ask of your car far differs from what I ask of mine. Only you know your wants, desires and expectations of your TS in progress.

I ran 15's, 16's and 17's (with various size tyres) on my 2007. I finally settled on 16x7, 205/50/16's as a great fitment on stock suspension for my 2007 and 2014.

I've rocked nothing but 17" inch wheels in the ten years I've had the car. Only thing I've noticed is loads of compliments from people.

Go figure

I had mediumweight 17's with 205/45r17 for 2-3 summers (came with the car) before I bought lightweight 15's with 195/55r15 BFG Sport Comp 2 (after reading tmontague review). The difference was huge! On the 17's, the power steering seems like it was almost not strong enough to bring back the wheel straight on its own when turning. Ride quality was not good.... But it sure looked nice! Now with 15's it feels like a different car. TRD rear sway bar was the next upgrade I did and it was very positive. Next upgrade is gonna be Bilstein B8 with H&R springs... after winter.

Jeanseb29 makes a good point. After years of driving with heavy wheels, I finally went with lightweight wheels... and it made a HUGE difference! It's a completely new driving experience! Lighter is definitely better.

Thanks gentlemen! I appreciate the different perspectives. I'm thinking 16" wheels that would accommodate a 205 tire is what would suit me best. It's not something I'm going to do immediately, but will definitely keep looking. And, I completely agree about the different wheel/tire combos and how they affect steering. My 08 with 14" winter wheels and tires has very light and responsive steering characteristics, for sure!
