Mine is the same way. I think for whatever reason the Canadian version has it disabled. I asked the dealer how to enable it, and he had no idea what I was talking about.

If anyone has any info on this I would appreciate a response as well, since I want to get this working too.

Toyota uses the same LCD display for a LOT of cars, many of them having the temperature function, but I don't think the Yaris' electronics supports it. Although, the higher trim levels of the Vios (aka Yaris sedan) here do have that functionality...

At your dealer you can have a rearview mirror that gives you the outside
temperature.

I have one:

This Yaris pictured above has a lot more than just external temperature reading, it has a start-stop button, digital climate control, and probably steering wheel mounted audio controls as well.

Ultra high spec!

is it not possible that the dealer can switch it on through the OBDII port?

For example; the light and sound when you not fasten you seatbelts is also to swich of through the OBDII port!

It's a hit or miss with certain vehicles on whether they are prewired or not. I've owned cars that were and weren't.

As for the fog lights. I wired up my aftermarket DLAA's so that they light up in my cluster. Went to Toyota and picked up the relay. Before the hack, there was a whole DIY on how to do it.

Wow .. I payed under $20 (tax included) for mine and think it was a Denzo from the dealer. They're really ripping you off over there huh, lol. Oh and I also shopped around the dealers too and never heard a price like that for it.
