I just got a 2012 Yaris last week. Love this little car. Its a 4door hatchback version. I am having the windows tinted today and then next I would like to throw some nice rims on it. I am new to any kind of car customizing. I see some folks put larger rims on these cars. Without doing any lowering etc, what is largest I should go? If I do need to lower it I suppose thats ok. Thanks for any advice you can give.

Having both lowered and replaced the factory wheels, I'd say that if I had to do it over again, I would have lowered first.

In any case, the old wheel and tire guide might be helpful...

Welcome aboard. I say lower first for two reasons. First, it gives you a better idea of what spec wheels to get to prevent issues from being lowered. If you get wheels first, and then lower it, the wheels' specs may be too aggressive for the amount of drop. So you would either have to settle with getting less of a drop, or replacing the wheel and tire set up to accommodate the amount of lowering. Second, I always found it odd looking for a car to have aftermarket wheels, and factory ride height. lol

On my 2007 and 2014, I like 16x7, ET42-45, 205/50/16 rubber on stock suspension.

This is my setup right now. It's very close to Kimona's: 16x7.5 et42 and 205/50r16 on stock suspension. I will be lowering it about an inch, but I'm not in a hurry as I have no monies for it at this time.
