As far as I've heard, it's not cosmetically different.

Mainly depends on when you get the money coming in, when you want the car, and the availability of what you want.

I thought about waiting for the 2010 model (which I've heard will be out later this month/early September, despite the dealer not being able to confirm due to the cash for clunkers program). For me, the extra 2000 miles on my car through my commute for the next month would not have gone well for my trade-in. I got lucky that a local dealer had pretty much what I was looking for (LB, MT, power package). They actually only had 2. Other dealers in my area had a limited stock (maybe 3 or 4 if you were lucky), but they were primarily either auto or only the convienence package.

I'd say check out what the dealer in your area has in stock, if it meets your wants/needs. If not, then wait (if you can).

I would wait- the 2010 is a safer car- will have stability and traction control standard.

Muller Totoya in NJ told me the 2010 Yaris will not be available until mid-October or November

They just added a lot of stuff last year so more than likely there will not be too many changes for this year. Just like between the 07's and 08's, there wasn't a major change.

I bought an 09 tonight, my salesman said the 2010's will be a long wait after order and you dont get a rebate on the 2010's.

Traded in my 93 lexus sc300 for the cash for clunkers program. Got me a 09 2door liftback w/5speed trans and power package and cruise. I like this yaris a lot dispite the fact its rather week compared to my 225 horse lexus. The gas milage is amazing. I averaged 17mi/gal. with the Lex., Now 34mi/gal. with the yaris. It is quite and smooth for such a small car. My Kawasaki ZX14 only gets 37mi/gal. So now I dont need to ride the bike to save gas, only to quel my need for speed. I drove the auto trans. yaris but I think the 5speed has more zip. The clutch does take some getting use to though. Also right now toyota has 0% financing for 60 months on yaris and corolla. My sticker price was $15065.00 if I remember correctly. I got them down to $14200.00. But I had to drive to Milwaukee to find a five speed. With $4000 down and $4500 for the lex my payment is 96$ per month. I love it!! Obama rules!!

definetly not worried about that craving for speed, i still own my 05 evolution thats modded pretty good so, if thats the case ill just hop in the blue beast. but the yaris is going to be for just regular driving around and so fourth so most definetly im getting an auto trans in the liftback when i do get it. i sometimes get tired of driving manual honestly lol sometimes i just like to cruise and not worry about shifting

This is a nice link with information on the 2010 Yaris. In the near future we will be a two Yaris Hatchback family. Mine a 2007, hers a 2010.
