I've put way too much time and money into it to not eventually get it to market.

The probem is, "eventually" is an extrememly vague time line. I said many months ago if it took too long, intertest in it would fade..

The question that begs to be asked is, if you did indeed invest so much time and effort into it, would it not be prudent to get it to market ASAP so your efforts would not be in vain?

I can only assume, because for some people, it's not about making money but the challenge of doing something cool and useful? And sometimes this challenge has to take a back seat to more important concerns...

I'm willing to wait for it. It will be such an intuitive piece of the car, and you know for sure nobody else will ever undertake this.

I'm just glad we have a member of our own community that's willing to spend his time on it.

+1 Scott has done so much for the community I don't think we can actually thank him enough. While it's frustrating that this isn't out, those who stick around will be rewarded. I would never expect Scott, or anyone for that matter, to drop the ball on work or family just to move a hobby project along for a bunch of citizens of the internet.

The people on here whining about when its coming or releasing sound like the same people who are Android forums waiting for a new updated ROM release for their smartphones...

Its a FREE service someone is going out of their way to provide us. It will be ready when its ready...

I dont see any of you people giving him a hand in it, so zip it, sit tight, and wait for it.

When someone releases an updated ROM for a phone, and when there are bugs in it, people whine about it...I dont get it.. You just whined about not having it, now you whine about bugs in it?

CTScott doesnt want any bugs in it, only perfection.....so just please wait for it.

I don't think anyone really was "whining" about it not being done - just more along the lines of "will it ever happen."

I do understand work + life is the number one priority and hobbies and interests take the back seat, especially in this economy.

I would be willing to put up the $150-$200 bucks or whatever it cost up front if I knew it was happening :) (ie like Kickstarter)

I also do appreciate what you have done CTScott, just because no one else has developed anything nearly as cool/OEM looking for our cars. Sure the ScanGuage is close, but what you've made is something that Toyota should have included in the first place.

That's actually a great idea. Why doesn't he start a Kickstarter page that way if everyone actually shows interest still, the money all flows in and he then has time to finish.

Kickstarter would actually be a great way to go. That would force me into some milestones as well as give me the capital necessary, without having to put it up out of pocket.

I have a consulting job that I will be wrapping up the second week of June, that once complete, will give me some free time. Within the next couple of weeks I will setup the kickstarter.
