296k 2009 2dr hatch here... starter was replaced because the pin was bent, 2 brake jobs, 2 tune ups, and just standard maintenance and she runs like a champ.
I often wonder if I should preemptively replace the water pump or alternator since I'm on the originals??? |

I wouldnt if I drove mostly locallly. Just check the bottom of the hood on the passenger side three or four times a year for red coolant stains. Id leave the alt alone too. Toyota ones are $$$ and remanufactured ones not known for longevity/
