Its a 2 door. I am an old dude (57) so the less new gadgets it has the better off I am. I asked them if I could get it with manual locks and windows and they looked at me strange.

I have a feeling Rutherford isn't a mod sort of guy. Neither am I, actually.

Going to check it out today then if everything is good pick-up tommorrow. Total out the door price here in NC with tax, tag, etc. was $16,500.00. They actually wanted more and when I said I would not pay that there response was "well some people do". That was priceless. Yea I am sorry but bentjazz is right, probably not a mod sort of guy but I was when I was younger.

Back in the saddle again
All the safety stuff is going to take a bit of time getting use to and of course all the other electronics will likey make me loss what little hair I have left. I will figure it out though with the help of my daughters. I did smile when they gave me an actual key, there is hope for me after all. It seems even with the up and down adjustment on the driver seat you sit higher up than the 08. No back-up camera which I am fine with since I can't not look at my mirrors while backing anyway. Like I said before the engine compartment is like an old friend.

Just your base model 2017 Yaris L. With all the new electronics it makes my 08 look like a dinosaur.

I, too, love the silver. Sharp. If I bought another Yaris tomorrow, I'd want
it in either white or silver. Hope you get another 300,000 plus miles out of
this one, Rutherford.

BTW if cruise control is somewhat important to you don't hesitate to put one in yourself. On my 2015 base L it cost me a grand total of $20 and 15 minutes.

Thanks for the info on the cruise control. I was surprised it did not have it but surprisingly enough I dont use it that much. Never really got use to them, damn I'm old. Yaris is doing fine so far but one thing I have noticed. When you get down to about an 1/8th of a tank of gas the needle falls real quick. Tank must taper down in size or maybe it does it on purpose to scare the crap out of you!

Doesn't speak well to the consistant design/build quality of that particular hardware - and certainly doesn't help the 'Made in Mexico' stereotype any.

Beyond that, Mazda does make some nice feeling/driving cars, and their inside cabins tend to be top notch for their price class - though Toyota somehow managed to ruin the looks of the Mazda2 with the iA front fascia, that's for sure. Of course, many people said that about the 2015+ Yaris front fascia also - so that's all subjective opinion in the end. As long as you like the looks of your car, that is what really counts.

I hope you're right. I have 2300 miles on mine now and all is OK. The engine was made in Japan, the A/T in Thailand.

As far as build-quality on a made in Mexico car, this IA is 1000% better than the 2015 Nissan Versa I had.

Hi, Bentjazz!!!
