Carmine Red Rant
So we were looking at the 5 door to replace our sedan a few weeks ago and after looking at it and the brochure we ordered a Carmine Red 5 door. We have a Barcelona Red Sedan and we thought the colors were almost the same.
Last week the dealer calls us, They had one in stock, and we were excited. When we saw it, however, the first thing out of my GF's mouth was "That's the ugliest color I've ever seen" We were not expecting the plum color; What do you guys think of it? I also thought that color looked good online, and thought that was the color I wanted.
However, when I saw one on the lot, I said no thanks. Sorry, not the color for me. |

Carmine and Barcelona reds have never been considered even close in colour. Many pics of Carmine reds have been posted since its introduction.

I love that color. If my Polar White got crushed by a meteor today, I'd probably get a Carmine Red three door.

Since my new Yaris is carmine red and looks exactly like the pic, I like it.
I didn't want black or white. I did't want another silver car as my Celica is silver. The blues avalible don't float my boat. And the other red is too bright IMO. So, carmine red it is. Personally. I think it suites the Yaris well althought I probably wouldn't like it on another car |

Love that color. I'm also a fan of Mazda's Black Cherry Pearl color, so there's your explanation why.

I've got Barcelona Red because they didn't offer a really bright red in the sedan. It's as dark a red as I'm willing to go with.

I think it looks great! Looks like the Yaris fell into a glass of wine ;)
My preference would have been the red that comes with the Yaris Sedan (if you're going with red, that is) but it's not available for the liftback unfortunately. I think the liftback is small enough that you can get away with almost any color and still have a really smart looking car (although I probably wouldn't get an orange or a lemon color Yaris, but maybe that's just me ) This Wine / Burgundy color would look great on a Yaris sedan and the other red (Barcelona Red) would look awesome on the Yaris LB. Burgandy is the color or plum. Not red. So so color not my cup of tea.

Change your rims and that will make a big difference. Yellow, white, something that stands out.

Well, this thread certianly illustrates why cars are avalible in various colors.
People simply have different opinions about color. |

When I saw the Carmine Red in the 09 Yaris brochure I got excited. It appeared to be a similar color to the Impulse Red on my Corolla and Tacoma.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...stone8/089.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...stone8/090.jpg I waited for weeks for the Carmine Red Yaris to show at the dealerships. When it did arrive at the dealership for me to look at I was disappointed. It didn’t look like the red in the brochure--not even close. When I was ready to buy a Yaris I went with Absolute red instead, which later became my new favorite red . http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...iscompared.jpg |

It's not a real carmine (beetle juice) color. That's bright red, used in things like cinnamon red hots and lipstick. More like Absolute Red.

I have a carmine red Yaris and I love the color. In some light it looks purple, when the sun is setting is appears a deeper red and in bright sunlight you can see orange/copper tones. It is definitely unique.....I suppose if you're into primary colors then basic red, white, black or blue will be fine.
