Test drive 2012 Suzuki SX-4 A.W.D.. : 6 speed manual and C.V.T. ( w/ manual shift )

Took both on same route . The clutch engagement for the Grey 6 speed manual was near the top . Both pedal and shifting were smooth . As for the RED one with the C.V.T. , that coasted better than the manual in 5th or 6th gear . Both only had about 4 miles on them . They soaked up the imperfections of the roads quite well and seating position is comfortable . We didn't drive the ones in the showroom . Figure the ones we drove would give us an idea how they'd perform . Really like it in the Blue , similar to the Blazing Blue 2010 3 door we had .

Great car. I've owned an '09 and currently have a '10 (both manuals). Highly recommended.

Be sure to check out www.clubsx4.com, too (and www.subcompactculture.com, too).

I've really wanted to pick one up as my next car but due to the fact that there's only two, that's right..TWO, Suzuki dealerships in all of Michigan, it makes it a hard trigger to pull.

I've got two within 30 min of me, so I'm not so worried.

Really do love the car (driving it today, actually). Mine has the 16" alloys off of a 2007, a Road Race Motorsports intake, and Rally Armor mudflaps. Just picked up a set of snow tires to be mounted on some 15" alloy wheels, too.

The oil filter is in a cramped area , looks to be messy and a pain in the butt . How often do you change the spark plugs and antifreeze ? Think it's supposed to be every 35,000 miles or so . Wonder if you could use a long life coolant ( like that of the YARIS ) and replace the plugs with NGK / DENSO platinum or iridium spark plugs ? Reminds us of the EAGLE Summit ( Mitsubishi Expo ) of many years ago .

Plugs are right on top of the motor... the 1nz-fe's oil filter isn't in the greatest location either, if it was just a 1/2" further off the motor it'd be so much nicer.

I like my friends 07 SX4, if they were in the price range of my Echo, I probably would have gotten it instead to be honest.

I was looking at the first picture and kept saying to myself, "That looks familiar..."

It looks like a new version of a Dodge/Plymouth Colt Vista (Eagle Summit, Mitsubishi Summit, etc...)!

I had one of those, too. A 1992 Mitsubishi Expo LRV. Mine was the FWD version, not AWD.

And FYI, the oil filter on the 2010+ SX4 is a pain in the ass to change. I've done it once, need to do it again soon.
