I wonder why it is that they do that? Why do they only sell specific parts to specific countries?

So normal driving is fine, you like the spring rate, etc. But when you hit a (common occurance) harsh bump, the shock zips through its travel, bottoms out on your shortened bump-stop, and slams the hell out of car, right?
I don't know who/if anyone is making duel or even single adjustable sport shocks/struts (KONI, Tokico???) but maybe a stiffer valved (like the TRD) shock to keep the soft stock valves from just flying through thier travel, plus a set of stiffer MCU bumpstops could reduce the bone-jarring shock of running out of travel. This weekend I went out to hill country and got the car airborne, coming down hard enough to cause the windshield wiper lever to drop down to high-speed (BANG! "WTF??? Why are my wiper blades on???" LOL!). Here's a link to some reportedly stiffer MCU bump-stops. Anybody from the SF area ever heard of/can vouch for these guys?

Either way, good luck bro.

I never cut my bump stops though, so they are not shortened. But I'm assuming that since the original shocks were not meant for a 1-2inch drop, this is why they are acting the way they are, cause now they lost those 2 inches of extra movement?

Ok, SO I just got my email from Tein basically stating that they have no Coilovers for the Yaris that are EDFC compatible. Ok, they didnt answer my question the way I asked so now Im stuck. I know its easy to cuy above the shock in the back of the liftback, but how about the sadan?

When I installed the TRD springs and sway bar it made the car handle much better but it was too stiff and bumpy for my taste so I ended up with my stock springs. It doesn't look as cool or handle as well but it rides much softer. The TRD sway bar alone is enough for me. I still drive the piss out of it. Great little car.

Try some 'touring' type tires for a cushier ride.
Move away from Hi-Performance tires have stiff sidewalls which transfer more road texture to your butt.

Otherwise, go back to stock springs and that off-road looking set-up. Yuck!

What type of rim/wheel combo do you have. That will make as big of a impact as springs and shocks. Very little sidewall is going to give you a very bumpy ride and make you feel every little crack and crevice in the road. Also tire pressure is another major factor as well. When i have my tire pressure set at 35 vs 40 my ride is so so much better but cornering handling is sacrificed.

Sorry, I haven't read through all the posts, but has anyone suggested you getting air bags to replace your springs?
