car info
Would any of the experts know if there is a way to find out info on our cars. I mean the date of production, factory etc... Just curious.

the VIN tags on any car provide most if not all of this information. The trouble is trying to trace it without going through Toyota itself. A Chilton or Haynes manual sometimes provides this information.
You can also search google (or other) for similar Toyota models (echo) which would have been produced within the last few years - sometimes the production codes stay the same for location / year / engine etc. Im used to doing these types of searches for older vehicles, tracing back used engines to vehicles and vice versa as well as available options but nothing newer than the 80's. Its getting harder it seems to find this information so If anyone has a sure way please post it.

Most cars have the month of manufacture on a plate somewhere, the VIN plate in this case apparently. In other cases it'll be a plate on the driver's door jamb.
I briefly considered asking for this info from people participating in my survey, to be able to check if specific problems were isolated to one part of the model year, but figured few people would be willing and able to find it. |
