I have had this thing floating around my car since i bought it and i still dont know what it is used for lol. any help much appreciated

it was wrapped in a piece of plastic on the floor of the passengers side, unopened till about 5 min ago
oh and its a 2010 5dr yaris

ahhh makes scense cause i have no front plate (there are two tiny ripples in the paint where it looks like this thing might fit.I told my g/f it was a mexican be good stick but she hit me with it (shes mexican)

I have one of those too and I also have no idea what it's for. Although I don't think it's for the plate. We have front plates here and I've never seen a Yaris rocking one of those behind or holding the plate. Plus it's not really the same size as a license plate.

Plate holder.

Pre '09 models just had the plate slapped directly onto the bumper. With the '09s they introduced this holder which at least, if you're required to, gives the front plate a more finished look.

My 09 came with one of those front plate mounts, but I ended up removing it and mounting the front plate directly to the bumper. The mount looked kind of silly, since it is wider than the plate, and less than half as high.

My 2010 LB had that on the passenger floor. They screwed my plate direct to the bumper. Bill C

I didn't get one with my 2010. Probably because they mounted the plates with holders that advertised the dealership.
