i can barely do 39mpg average 60/40... are you guys driving 4d engine 1.3 or 1.0 liter..most i got was 46mpg but thats 95% hwy going avg of 55 mph all the way.

Do you use any hypermiling techniques when driving?

The ones that have helped the most are coasting and driving at around 55mph on the highway (speed limit or under on surface streets).

i do about 80 % of the hypermill concept.. just chose not to turn off my engine on the stop lights..

Stopping engine isn't that big an advantage. You should be getting 45 with 80 percent of the techniques.

Cosumer reports reported a difference in MPG

33 Overall for the sedan (page 11) and 30 for the liftback (page 26). For what it is worth.

They really seem to hate the Yaris, but the Scion's are rated right up there and the Echo makes numerous rankings for the most reliable used car.
