This is good price! How many miles? I also bought a red one for my kid. But 07 made in 06, 3-doors. Red ones are rare, but beautiful. I mostly see yaris in silver, gray, bluish and other types or dirty color around here. I don't believe I've seen a white one. I have a soft spot for white cars. I used to own 5 white cars. Sadly, my current daily driver is silver.

It's got 168K on the odo...my first thought was, that's a lot of miles for an '09 (which it is), but it's also an indication that most of those miles are probably highway miles. We took the car to my mechanic to have him check it out before we bought it and the only thing he found wrong was a small leak in a rear section of the exhaust...said it would be about $200 to replace. He recommended the car and said he's seen several 300K+ mile Echos (which have the same drive train as the Yaris, so they are very well built. I'm going to change the fluids and filters and give it a good detailing inside and out this weekend...and BTW, the red is my favorite color...

Red is my favourite colour too! 2007 Barcelona Red Sedan but only 136K Kilometres. Barely broken in.

$7k seems kind of high. private party value on that car is around $5300 in pristine condition, and that's with power windows/locks.

As one who should hit 300k miles fairly soon, I agree with your mechanic .

You'd be surprised

The market isn't exactly flooded with them and its almost impossible to find a quality small hatchback earlier than 2009-2011 for sale but newer than 03-04 (aka when a used car starts getting actually cheaper to buy, but not super old). I guess most companies just didn't start making good quality small hatchback cars until just very recently.

The cheapest Yaris within 150 miles of me was the one I just bought at $6,800, and its an 07 manual with every optional feature except cruise (incl. spoiler). Miles are 110K. Other small cars in other makes/models were all 2011 or newer and all in the $10-14K price range - aka basically like buying a new car.

My only other options for small hatchbacks were cars I'd never touch with a 10 foot pole (aved, focus, accent, etc). One guy near me was even selling an '11 Yaris with almost 100K miles on it for over $10K and wouldn't budge on the price.

When it comes to small hatchbacks that aren't super old (90's cars) but aren't virtually new (2011+ so expensive), Yaris is basically your only option and there were hardly any being sold anywhere near me.

Its kind of funny, a car like the Yaris is pretty damn cheap compared to other cars when you buy new, but buying used? Not so much, despite what bluebook value says. People just don't want to part with them I guess.

on cars.com there are automatic sedans cheaper than that, and those are dealers. around here, most yaris with 110,000-140,000 miles are priced around $4500-$6800, which is where they should be.

I guess I have to pay a premium if I want manual then, which I do. The whole manuals-being-cheaper-than-automatics I've noticed only applies when the car is new or if its a car that is frequently bought in manual (sports cars). For me, a manual yaris that is within the mid/late-00's year wise and with not very high miles (not close to 200K) either were not available at all or $7000+
