Yaris Sedan 2007 - Idle RPMs too low

Hi guys!

Here is my query.

Situation: The idle RPMs are lower than usual. This happens even when I have the A / C on or off. If I'm moving, and suddenly brake, the RPMs drop drastically, and then go up a little, but still too low. This happens also with the lights on or off.

I cleaned the throttle body, and also the mass airflow sensor, but the condition persists. I also changed spark plugs, air filter, PCV and nothing.

* I noticed that the dash lights decrease, and that the A / C starts throwing warm air.

Please HELP ME !!

I have an auto too, and mine does the same thing in stop and go traffic. Kinda stumbles a little then catches back up, but sometimes it seems to idle a little rough. In fact, mine threw a check engine light this morning. Code is a P0101, Mass Air Flow Sensor. I've got 161k on it, so I'm thinking I may need to replace the sensor. i wanna check it with a component tester first, to make sure, because the sensors is expensive. Probably could use a good fuel injection cleaning also.

Dont worry about your 2nd statement. These are expected when your idle is too low.

Re your concern, im out of ideas considering you have done the thinga i have in mind.

Look,, this is normal for the Yaris. The rpm's always seem too low, and drop like a rock. As long as you are not stalling, the car is ok.

Here is the RPM information that you ask me for... Usually 630-648 is the idle, and the other pictures are the drops without recovery.

Looks about right to me. My 2007 Canadian sedan manual is just above 500. It dips below briefly when I make any accessory actions like turning AC/defroster/headlights/fan on OR off

Mine, is a/t...

Is just that, it wasn't like that before, and now I'm having an A/C issue while idling, for example. I can live with a soft shaking thing, but no with warm air while idling. Something has changed. I just need to figure out what.

Where can I find official information about this model RPM standards?

I'll try with a fuel injector cleaner product. Any recommendation?

Sorry, can't help you there. I find most of my problems dealing with idle lie just before throttle body. Battery? Alternator?

Manual trans and Automatic trans idling speed:

Useful! Well, that might be some reassurance to me, I've been holding back on changing my battery for some time now.

Any new leads?

I poured a bottle of STP fuel injector cleaner today, in a full gas tank. Let's see what happen...

Sorry for the delay. Nothing have changed after pouring the fuel injector cleaner.

My next step is try with Auto Centro Toyota, here in Puerto Rico. Wish me luck!

If there is not enough power from battery/alternator the ac clutch will not kick in. Hence the warm air. Perhaps at higher rpm when car is moving enough juice is generated to engage ac clutch.

Hey, I just wanted to say that I have the same exact issue you're describing. Same low rpm and the ac starts blowing warm air.

I have 6 months with this issue. I changed the fuel pump, spark plugs, air filter, cleaned the MAF, cleaned the throttle body, etc but I'm still having the same issue.

If you find out what the problem is, please update this thread. I'll let you know if I fix it!

Saludos
