OEM Coolant from Canadian Tire?
http://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/oe...l#.Vfy_hPlVhBc
How are these coolant compare to the Toyota branded super long life coolant? (pink stuff) Anyone have experience on these? It looks like the specs are as stated in Owner manual & equivalent to those from Toyota (Silicate, borate, nitrite and amine free, 250000km/5 years) I need to top up the overflowing tank and from where I am it's very hard to get the Toyota stuff. (Nearest dealer is 1.5 hr drive away and I can't get there on a weekday & Amazon is 1-2 month delivery...) Thanks! |

A little more info here:
http://www.recochem.com/media/upload...TA_EN_0114.pdf As to how it compares, you would have to find those tests for the Toyota coolant and compare. No other way to tell. It meets the requirements for the Yaris, and is probably totally fine to fun. Failing that, there is always amazon.ca..... Cheers. |

If you want a good aftermarket coolant from Canadian tire, get the Motomaster Asian Concentrate Long Life Coolant. 10 year/300000km. I changed my coolant early this year and used it. It cost $20 for the jug. With the one you listed, you are better off going to the dealer, as they are charging less than what you listed. But TBH, I've researched this topic so much, and the coolant you use doesnt make a difference, unless you use something horrible like dexcool, but everyone has there own opinion

I used Zerex Asian vehicle formula on my Corolla. Seemed to be the same as factory.
On another note. How often do you guys change your coolant? |

Well my original motor went through 3 water pumps in the first 60,000 km so it got changed often. If not I would have probably changed it this year because it's 10 years old now. With my new engine I'll probably change it at 100,000km because it's cooling a turbo now too.
