2004 Yaris verso pre-wired for cruise control

Is 2004 Yaris verso pre-wired for cruise control

Have tried a search on this subject

Does anyone know if my Yaris Verso is pre-wired

Or is there an after market kit

Has anyone fitted cruise control, what make and how difficult is it

Do you really mean 1994? The EPC shows the first year for the Yaris Verso as 1998.

OK - That makes much more sense. Unfortunately, OEM cruise control was not available on the Yaris Verso. With it having a cable throttle (as opposed to electronic, like on the 2nd generation and newer Yaris), installation of an aftermarket solution would be quite a bit more complicated and expensive.

Thanks for a prompt reply

I previously had a Toyota Estima with an after market cruise control

I got so used to it that I really miss it now

Any recommendations for an after market kit that I could get someone to fit for me

Have been retired for a few years now, I had a small garage business for 27 years (As my username)

But did not do any electrical work (An Auto Electrician is a trade on its own)

Your Yaris Verso is basically the same as the Yaris from that vintage or what we got here in the US as the Toyota Echo. Here is an aftermarket kit, which was offered for the Echo, which should also work with your car:

The installation documentation may be off as far as wire colors go. Once you have it in hand, if you can shoot me a copy of the install guide for it, I can help you sort it out.

As my car is a … Toyota Yaris Verso 2004 1.3 RHD Manual Transmission … and the instructions are for a Toyota Echo LHD …

The wiring colours are different and the Instructions are not too easy to follow …

There are 6 main wires to connect … Just the Grey Wire left to the VSS Sensor to connect …

Black Earth Wire (Done)
2 on the Brake Switch (Done)
Accessory feed at the fuse Panel (Done)
VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) Grey Wire
Tach Sensor Dark Blue Wire (Not Necessary as it is Manual Transmission)

Not sure what this means …
Grey Wire Attachment for VSS Signal … Location 7 – Back of Knee Panel 2 connector from top …

Data Link Connector has 7 wires in Positions …
4 … White/Black
5 … Brown
7 … Purple or Violet
9 … Green/Black
13 … Pink/Black
15 … Pink
16 … Brown/Black

Can you explain exactly where this connection is made ...

Location 7 – Back of Knee Panel 2 connector from top …

Can I connect the VSS Grey Wire at the Instrument Panel or the DLC ...

VSS is vehicle speed (SPD on the wiring diagrams). There is not a VSS connection at the DLC connector, but you can grab it at the instrument panel from the White wire with the red stripe.

Excellent! This is actually very good news for people with 1st generation European Yaris. Did you by any chance take pictures along the way?

You can grab the speed sensor wire in a few different places:

1. At the instrument cluster (Digital type)- White/Red wire in pin 15 of connector C15 (22 pin connector)

2. At the instrument cluster (Analog type)- White/Red wire in pin 13 of connector C11 (22 pin connector)

3. ECM connector - Light Green/Red wire in pin 9 of connector E6 (22 pin connector)

option 1. worked as a charm. thanks a lot !!!!

CC is a aftermarket waeco ms-50
http://www.my-caravanning.com/en/pro...gler/MS-50/397
http://de.waeco.com/tmp/MS-50_EB_10S_02.pdf

i did is as following:

find a place for it under the hood, cut the brake vacuum line and connect to it

dissasembley the console
http://www.fitaudio.com/?View=entry&EntryID=45

connected +12V and ign 12V on the radio connector

tacho jack for speed sensor

always check the connection since i dont believe these clips, better way would be to solder it, but this does the work

there is a LED on the controler unit that flashes depeding on type of signal and if
the LED flashes more than once per secound, the black wire loops on
the electronic module have to be cut. This will change the impulse
count from 1,250 impulses/kph to 8,000 impulses/kph. this was needed so i cuted the black wire. didnt take picture but i found one on the web

connecting the cable to throttle

thats about it, one dayi will try to connect the cc remote to the original radio remote on the steeringwheel since im not using it.

once more thanks to scott for saving me a bunch of work with that speed sensor wire so i didnt had to install waeco magnetic speed sensors on the gearbox
