Why won't my dipstick come out???

I just did oil change today, but the dipstick wouldnt come out no matter how hard i pulled it, I tried twisting it but i worried it would break, but still couldnt get it out.

What's going on with it?

Thanks

Same thing happened with my wifes 04 Camry. I believe that was because being a new car I almost never checked the oil between changes and the o ring got dirty.

I just yanked harder and it came out ok. I cleaned the end of the dipstick with some gas on a rag and all was well.

You might benefit from heating the end of the metal dipstick tube with a hair dryer. Obviously if you heat it too much that wouldnt be good!

OR

Squirt a little gas where the dipstick/dipstick tube come together to disolve the crud that has most likely built up in there. It might take a few treatments.

Wait a minute.

It wasnt my wifes 04 Camry it was my daughters 2012 Camry. The car was new and the first time I checked the oil (my daughter never checks her oil or tire pressure) the dipstick was difficult to remove. After I cleaned it it was OK.
