Megan Springs?
Uncleyaris started a thread on another distributer...hopupracing.com
Anyway I noticed they have Megan Springs for $129...free shipping...1.5" lowering. Does anyone have any personal experience or heard anything about these? I searched previous threads and didn't see a whole lot about them...Megan was mentioned on other speed equipment, coilovers and springs for other cars but not really much was said. Sad to pinch every penny but $25 less than DF's appeals to me...looking for solid reasons why not.

I believe the Megan springs are a new item. Very recently released. I would suggest going with the Tanabes since everyone seems to be very happy with the product. I haven't seen any posts about the megan springs yet either. You can be the guinea pig on those. I've subjected myself to more high risk products and been not so pleased. However, megan appears to be a well established brand.

only a $25 Difference??...very much not worth risking...i would rather go w/ a product that is proven and with a better name.

Don't some people buy 87 octane because its 10% cheaper than Premium..... ....these springs are 20% less than DF's, 30% less than NF's, and 80% less than Tein S. Think I'll go for them if any money left from paying Uncle Sam this week.

Please let us know how these are. I am more interested in the coil overs. For less than 900 and 32 way adjustable I can hardly NOT buy them.

I dunno Megan seems a little questionable to me they seem like they are copies of other products I've seen their intercoolers that look like exact copies of certain name brands

don't feel like reading through the responses, but i bought Megan (orange) lowering springs when i had my GTI. it was supposed to be a 2 inch drop, but it didn't drop it more than an inch. they were also too soft for me.

Just finished installing..and took a 2 mile test drive......Think I'll like but will post again in a week or 2.
Had a problem with breaking the strut top nut loose...my box end 17mm wrench didn't have enough offsett to grab the nut so I welded a handle onto an old 17mm socket (one of those old $5 socket sets so it was cheaper than buying the proper offset box end). The 2nd strut went much quicker than the 1st My initial opinion is they are a lot firmer than stock but not harsh by any means....much better feel on the road. I've only driven 2 miles but I doubt if I'll ever bottom out.....and I didn't cut the bump stops. My feeling is that these bumpstops were made for these struts and their travel, and any cutting will allow the strut to bottom out and possibly self distruct...just my opinion!!! The Megan springs say 1.5" drop...I measured 1.25" after my drive which 'maybe' they'll settle a little with use!?!? There were no instructions or info with the springs. On Chris's DIY he showed wrapping the lower coils of the rear spring, and it seems like I may be getting a little noise from the rear which this may cure ( if it continues I'll try some teflon tape from work in a couple weeks) For $117 I'm very pleased....thanks WeSellCarParts! I'll add more later after driving a while.
