I say, throw an HID retro in there. It'd have to be a bi-xenon projector though.

Looks like those bulbs are H4 style.

man, it looks pretty cool but it's been done before on Lexus GS300/400/430s..
it's an Infiniti Q45 xenon projector setup..very cool and good light output...

I'm REALLY DIGGIN' the painted headlight housings..it's just the PERFECT amount of dark color to bring out the "dark chrome" accents of the reflectors!!!

What temperature / how long did you "bake" your headlamps to get the seals to pull apart???

I got some work to do this week!!

Has anyone actually pulled their headlights on their Yaris?

I bought paint etc for painting out my lights but I cant get them out, seems like the front bumper has to come off or something. Theres bolts galore and clips.... hopefully someone has or has time too... or even breakaway drawings for any of this.

many times you have to take off the front bumpers of cars to get to all of the bolts or take them out

Thats kind of what I thought, I got the top bolt, the one right behind the grill and thats it its stuck. If you pry the fender liner out to look in behind the lens has a tab that hooks under the bottom edge to the front bumper but no bolt... strange. I was amped to paint.

Yeah, Toyota has a big thing with making the headlights damn near impossible to get out...most Lexus models are the same way

I just read all that in some of the posted PDFs -

There doesnt seem like an easy way or even remotely easy way of removing them. The great thing I found is that if you do it when the temperature is high outside the glue around the lens peels off by itself, without having to cook the lamp in the oven.

E to the B to the A to the Y!!!!!!

it will cost about $400-800 (depending on how long you wanna wait for a good deal) for the Infiniti Q45 headlights (make sure to get BALLASTS!!!!) . if you're lucky the bulbs/ballasts/relectors(projectors) will be in great condition. After removing your Yaris headlights, pull apart the old reflector from the headlight housing. Then, it's just a matter of making a bracket (s) to mount the new Q45 projetors(relector) where the old Yaris reflector was. Reseal the Yaris headlight housing COMPLETELY, or they will fog badly and possibly burn out HID bulbs quickly. Wiring should be pretty simple, though you will want to consult an electrician to verify you're not pulling TOO MUCH CURRENT. just because it only pulls 35Watts compared to halogens running a standard 55Watt doesn't mean you're not gonna blow fuses or burn wiring harnesses.

I guess what he is talking about is a blue tinted headlight protection film that gives the HID look to your stock halogen lamps...only for the look...because it reduces the intensity of your lights...but that's a personal choice.

These can be installed on headlights with halogens but it is not recommended to use it on headlights with real HIDs...because it creates an overheating, in consequence, reduces your HIDs' lifetime.

Wait, we don't have to do any cutting to do these HID retrofits?
