Does anyone realize yarisworld is getting 'less busy'?

I remember a few years back almost every day there is a new thread, and a lot of people responded. Now however it's getting quieter than ever. Maybe people have sold their yaris and move on to something new, but what do you think is the reason?

It ebbs and flows, sometimes it's busy on here, other times it's not. The not-so-nice economy probably isn't helping either.

Now that I think about it, it is pretty busy on here. Every time I check in there are lots of threads from new members from Russia and Thailand and Africa, etc. offering some great deals on new phones and fur coats...

Well I'm sure if you go to a forum for oh let's say a Jeep Liberty, you will find plenty of threads there. All asking questions like "what the hell should I do about my entire front end falling apart?" A lack of quality issues with the Yaris may have something to do with any issue of running out of topics. On the other hand, you could start another monthly thread on "What kind of oil do you use?"

Forums like this are geared towards modifications. The Yaris does not have a big aftermarket selection, so its not crazy that, over time with no new products being introduced and the platform getting older with no major changes, that enthusiast interest will wane.

IMO, it was like this when i bought my matrix xrs back in 04

the car was new and everthing that came out seemed awesome. people were modding, etc. then you hit the 5-ish year mark and people started to sell their cars.

there is usually a resurgence when the car becomes cheap on the used market. so for the US the yaris was an 07 first....so id expect it to pick up again in a couple years..

I'm not sure there is a lot to discuss about a car that seldom fails! If my 07 is an example, lots of things happen in my life, and the last of my worries is my car. It hasn't failed me, it still gets 50-odd mpg, it still handles to about 90% of my abilities, it is still quiet and comfortable. Lemmee see, what else is there to discuss, other than mods...

I guess people are just moving on to other important things or maybe they have got something else to do.

In my experience with forums, activity decreases significantly during the summer months when people spend more time outside. I've moderated a few in the past and we always saw about 40-60% more posts per day during the winter.

Good point, Mason.
When the weather gets crappy again, everyone will be inside clacking away.

I love this forum. Sold my car last year, but I still come by to visit.

The forum wasn't busy even when I was actively modding. It seems like if I did a search, everything that I wanted done was already done. Posts came up which step by step instructions and pictures. What more could I have asked for?

And Yaris sales are way down. However, it's most likely the reasons you posted.

Every website I've run has had slower traffic in the summer. All have been related to a hobby or cars.
