Can I drill into my dashboard?

I want to mount my tachometer near the left vent on the dashboard. Ive seen pictures of installed tachs, but just want to make sure there are no wires or something when I drill through.
Thanks!

depending on how big your tach is if its on the smaller side you can use 3m double sided tape so you dont have to drill into your dash.

The left side is pretty clear. There is a considerable amount of clearance to the wiring. The main thing to watch out for is the duct that feeds the vent. Here's what it looks like under there:

I wonder if you really mean tape, or mean fasteners. If you mean tape, I can see the tape falling off. If you mean the 3M fasteners, that must be the world's heaviest aftermarket tachometer (jk....sort of ). When I first had my 2007 Yaris (when it was new), I transferred the aftermarket XM Radio from my Suzuki Swift to the Yaris. As with the Swift, I used the 3M/Scotch Reclosable Fasteners...the clear 'colored' ones (they also come (or at least came) in black). I used one pair/package for the unit, and one for the end of the antennae. I eventually got rid of the XM Radio, but later used the fasteners for other things. I left the dash strips on the dash (they're still there) and got new packages as needed for any defice I wanted to affix to the dash. I've been using these for over 10 years....and I don't think I've ever had one fail. See link below (to Amazon) to see which product I'm referring to:
