I'm not mechanically inclined (I've only ever replaced spark plugs, batteries and headlight bulbs on other cars) and the bulb in the temperature control A/C knob is burned in my newly purchased 2013 5 door liftback. It's not a huge deal because at night I can just feel for the little indicator divot to see where the temp is at, but I was wondering how much would be a reasonable charge to have these bulbs replaced in the future by a professional.

I can generally follow step by step directions fine, but I'm nervous about breaking one of the plastic clips...and taking things apart and putting them back together just as they were isn't a forte of mine in general.

It'd probably be best to change all three if I do end up having it done I'm guessing.

Also, they're LED bulbs which are generally supposed to last longer than the life of a car, so is there a reason it burned in the first place and seems to be an issue that a number of people have in this part of the Yaris?

I should add that I noticed today that the orange A/C indicator light works on that knob, it's the temperature indicators that I can't see at night on the same knob. So I'm not sure if it's the bulb or what anymore.

It is a separate little tiny bulb. There are a few threads on here with pictures of what they look like and how to change them on a 2nd gen Yaris. For your 3rd gen it would be basically the same. There are LED replacements for them and I believe there is a thread on here with LED bulb info that also lists them.

Thanks very much for the info CTScott. I'm not mechanically inclined so what do you estimate would be a reasonable charge for a mechanic to replace all 3 bulbs with LED lights that I would supply?

It should only take one a couple of minutes, but they would likely hit you with a minimum charge (30 minutes or so).

Is It the same for 2010 model? My central knob is the only one not working..

I changed my lights for amber LEDs to match the display of my ham radio. I prefer the amber overall. But one downside I hadn't considered: The blue half of the temperature knob goes completely dark, since it filters out all the amber. So I left that one green. These are the LEDs I bought. If I did it again, I would choose a brighter one, because these are a bit dimmer than stock.

I must have broken something while doing this mod. Now the fan only works on setting 1. When I try 2, 3, or 4, I hear a click and the blower stops. I'll have to open it up again this weekend; hopefully it's nothing major.

Clima lightbulbs Yaris MY 2006

Hi!
I'm Claudio an italian boy who lives in Sweden. I'm owner of a 2006 D4D Yaris.
I'm trying to change lightbulbs of climate panel but I'm not sure the lightbulbs you talk here fits with my Yaris MY 2006.
Is there anyone who can help me?
Thanks!

I know it’s been a couple years since anyone posted in this thread, but I have a 2012 Yaris sedan and I only have one of the climate control dials lit up because the other two burned out. I saw the T4 T4.2 NEO Wedge LED lights on eBay. Will they still work?

I have just bought my 2015 Yaris Sport and my climate control panel only has one outside bulb working (the press button ones do)

I am like Wreck it Raplh when it comes to repairs, is it easy to do this myself and how does the panel come off please.

Sorry for sounding hopeless, need to know where to get bulbs also, is ebay ok

Thanks for the help

For future reference I have confirmed that at least the 2009-2013 corolla bulbs match. I’m sure many other Toyota’s match too. I didn’t want to pay for new bulbs and instead went to the junkyard and pulled them out of the corolla, saving me a few dollars.
