Vacuum gauge install

I'm thinking of installing a vacuum gauge on a 2008 Toyota Vios (Yaris sedan) 1NZ-FE. Trouble is, I'm not quite sure where to tee into for a intake manifold vacuum source. The brake booster hose is rather too big for the tiny little tee that my gauge comes with. I've been told by an ASE Certified Master Tech on another forum that its not really a good idea to tee into the PCV or EVAP hoses either, since they contain crankcase blowby/fuel vapour. Bummer.

Anyone with advice/experience on where to tap for an accurate vacuum reading? It's my first time working on my own car so any help at all would be greatly appreciated!

p.s. I did find cavuze's thread on the exact same topic (http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/sho...+gauge+install) but the pic of the engine bay posted looks nothing like my stock one

your yaris sedan engine bay should exactly be like the image posted on the link you put.

as mentioned, it is recommended you remove the plastic top of the valve cover. it appears as the one encircled should be just the right size you're looking into fitting your T-pipe.
