"Potential Recall Notification"

Anybody know about a recall on the Yaris? I just got an e-mail on this from the dealership that sold me my Yaris, along with sales pitches on their alignments and repair specials. Letter went like so:

"Potential Recall Notification

Our records show that many local Toyota models have recalls on them that have not yet been performed.

We would be happy to check your vehicle for recall or campaign eligibility and we will perform your Toyota's recall, at no cost to you."

Thanks. I never got a letter, but that's only to be expected. Some days it gets here by 9:00am, other days it's lucky to be here by 6:00pm, or delivered to the neighbors instead.

Dealer scam. You've got an 08. The recall referenced by others is of 06/07.

A seatbelt catching on fire is failing in my book.

I read the link that was provided on this topic, and it states: "On 2006 through 2007 model year Yaris"

Mine is a '08, so I take it that phone call is not needed.

I have an 07 and an 08. I got the recall notice in the mail about a month ago, only for my 07, because it only applies to the 06s and 07s. They realized the problem before putting 08s into production, therefore they changed the design before shipping them out.

Wrong.

Under my avatar it clearly says: "Drives: 2008 3dr Yaris"
